Eric is originally from Warner Robins, Georgia where he lived for fifteen years. After freshman year of high school he moved in with his father, who was stationed with the military in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from high school, Eric moved back down south to attend Florida State University.
While at school in Tallahassee, Eric became heavily involved with Greek Life, serving as both Treasurer and Vice President for his fraternity and sitting as a justice on the Inter Fraternity Council judicial board. In 2006, he was selected to a prestigious internship with the Executive Office of the Governor under the Jeb Bush administration. After the internship, Eric continued to work in the Governor’s Office as a research assistant with the Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy.
In 2008, Eric graduated from Florida State, magna cum laude, double majoring in Political Science and Interdisciplinary Social Science. Later that year, he received a full academic scholarship to the University of Alabama School of Law. While in law school, Eric worked as a law clerk with the litigation team for Matthews & Hawkins P.A. during the summers. Upon graduation from law school in May of 2011, Eric accepted a permanent position with Matthews Jones & Hawkins, LLP.
